As the resale trend continues to boom, second-hand clothing store chain 2nd Street USA, Inc. is pushing forward with its expansion in the U.S., opening its fifth location in the country in Sherman Oaks, California.
Located at 14548 Ventura Blvd, the 5,152-square-foot store will present shoppers with some 15,000 items of men’s and women’s fashion apparel and accessories, including a large selection of handbags and other accessories from big-name luxury brands.
Brands on offer will include everyone from Supreme, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood to Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel.
Part of the store will also be dedicated specifically to Japanese brands, such as Comme des Garçons, A Bathing Ape, and Hysteric Glamour.
Owned by Japan’s GEO Holdings, 2nd Street opened its first U.S. location on Los Angeles' Melrose Avenue in January 2018. Two more stores followed in June and July of the same year, one in Pasadena, the other in Costa Mesa.
A year and a half then passed before the chain’s fourth U.S. location opened in Torrance, California in January 2020. Now it seems that the company, which intends to expand its store network to 10 locations in the short term and a least 100 stores in the long term, is hitting its stride again.
With the second-hand fashion market expected to be worth $51 billion within the next five years, a U.S. expansion push from 2nd Street would certainly be well timed.
The chain’s parent company operates more than 500 2nd Street stores in Japan, along with around 1,300 locations under its namesake GEO banner, which specializes in CD, DVD and game software rentals.
