H&M USA has tapped American basketball player D'Angelo Russell to curate a collection of fashion-meets-function menswear pieces. As part of the partnership, Russell selected his favorite menswear pieces from H&M's spring offerings to create the 'Spring Essentials Selected by D'Angelo Russell' collection.
Launched on February 27, the collection is available on hm.com and all H&M stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada that carry the retailer's men's assortment.
Offering a 19-style range of athletic-inspired items and neutral-toned, polished casual pieces, highlights from the collection include water-resistant, rust-colored anoraks, slim fit joggers, utility shirts, and lightweight plaid topcoats.
Prices range from $12.99 to $69.99
"I'm honored to be able to share my personal style with fans and customers," Russell said. "Can't wait to see how people individually add their own take on 'Spring Essentials Selected By D'Angelo Russell."
In order to promote the collection, Russell stars in the 'Spring Essentials' campaign and video, which were shot in California.
H&M's partnership with Russell comes as brands continue to tap into consumer interest with basketball culture and the everyday fashion sense of top athletes, as seen in similar athlete collaborations launched by Indochino and Opening Ceremony last year.
