Tiffany & Co. commits $1 million to Covid-19 relief efforts

The latest name in retail to contribute to COVID-19 relief, Tiffany & Co. has announced a $1 million commitment to COVID-19 related causes through The Tiffany & Co. Foundation.

According to a statement, the foundation will allocate $750,000 to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO), and $250,000 to The New York Community Trust’s NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund.

The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the WHO works to provide COVID-19 aid to countries around the world, especially those with the weakest health systems, while the NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund aids nonprofit social service and arts and culture organizations struggling with the health and economic effects of the virus.

Tiffany & Co. is providing further donations to any qualified nonprofit organization supporting COVID-19 relief through a dollar-for-dollar employee donation match program.

In addition, Tiffany & Co. Foundation has signed onto Philanthropy's Commitment During COVID-19 Pledge, a collective of over 500 philanthropic organizations working to support members of the nonprofit sector, as well as individuals and communities impacted by COVID-19 by directing them toward grants.

“During this global health crisis, we must all be responsive to the urgent needs of our
global communities," said Anisa Kamadoli Costa, chairman, and president of The Tiffany & Co. Foundation.

"We are proud to support organizations providing immediate relief for communities impacted by COVID-19, including our hometown of New York."

With the commitment, Tiffany & Co. joins fellow members of the fashion industry like PVH, Unilever Canada, Tapestry and Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti in contributing large sums to Covid-19 relief.
