Swarovski has named Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert as its first-ever company-wide Creative Director. The style icon and influencer will “oversee the full creative direction of the company and reimagine the product portfolio across all divisions”.
The first products designed by Battaglia Engelbert in her new role will be for the Spring/Summer 2021 collection, but she’s actually worked for the company since 2016, overseeing the creative direction of its B2B division so already has an insider’s knowledge of its product offer.
The key appointment comes as the company is currently “realigning its business along with a new vision and growth strategy”.
CEO Robert Buchbauer said of all this that “our 125-year history is a witness for the power of our company to transform and reinvent itself and I am pleased to welcome a brilliant creative mind and the strong female leader like Giovanna to our company. With her remarkable track record in the industry and compelling point of view, she will explore new frontiers and become a vital part of writing the next chapter of our success story.”
Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert is an undeniably high-profile asset to the team with the Italian editor and fashion consultant has been a major fashion influencer for around two decades.
She’s previously worked for a raft of luxury brands on their ongoing creative and sustainable transformation of products, imagery, retail, organizations, and marketing campaigns.
