According to a press release, the Sandra Mansour x H&M collection is "inspired by strong female artists" like Toyen, Dorothea Tanning, Lena Leclercq, and Bibi Zogbe as well as "the beauty of nature," and features a variety of dresses, blouses and skirts, a tailored blazer, a printed t-shirt, and a hoodie.
Mansour, who established her eponymous brand in 2010, named the H&M collaboration 'Fleur du Soleil', after becoming fascinated with the way a sunflower follows the sun from day into night, H&M said. Available in an earthy color palette, the collection incorporates Mansour's signature feminine, romantic aesthetic with details like layers, ruffles, laces, jacquards, and embroidered organza, as well as a dot, floral, and sunflower motifs.
"The first things you notice about Sandra Mansour's designs are their dreamy qualities and sheer beauty, but then you get further drawn into the craftsmanship, the storytelling, and the modern youthfulness," said Maria Ostblom, head of womenswear design at H&M.
"We're proud to be collaborating with such a trailblazer and look forward to launching the collection worldwide."
As part of the collaboration and in response to Beirut's deadly port explosion on August 4, H&M will donate $100,000 to support the work of the Lebanese Red Cross.
"With the Fleur du Soleil collection, I want to talk to women around the world by sending a message of hope, something we really need right now," Mansour said.
The collection will be available via H&M online and in stores beginning August 27.
