Sneaker-to-apparel brand Vans has linked up with upscale department store and printed fabrics specialist Liberty for a collection of womenswear and shoes that have just launched. The collab mixes the sporty profile for which Vans is known with the hand-drawn or hand-painted floral prints that Liberty has been marketing for more than a century.
The Vans Made with Liberty collection is available globally.
It includes a tapered version of Vans’ Old Skool silhouette. Liberty’s multi-coloured floral pattern pops on a black background of the hero colourway, which is offset by the signature Vans’ Sidestripe. A brighter floral on a yellow backdrop and a patchwork floral-inspired paisley complete the footwear assortment.
Meanwhile, the women’s clothing comprises a Vans x Liberty Jacket that makes the most of signature details from both brands. It “brings utilitarian style with a collarless shell jacket that is complemented with tonal checkerboard pocket detailing and Liberty fabrics floral pocket and cuff lining”.
The play on checkerboard and patchwork patterns is also seen in the Vans x Liberty shirt assortment with contrasting checkerboard blocking and embroidered Liberty floral branding.
The accessories assortment includes a canvas mini bag and a checker panel bucket hat, each carrying the Vans and Liberty of London logos.
