Birkenstock 'to be sold' to L Catterton for €4bn

It looks like the long-rumored private equity takeover of family-owned Birkenstock could actually be happening soon. But it’s not likely to be CVC capital partners that are buying it. Instead, L Catterton, the group with close links to LVMH, is “nearing an agreement” to buy the German footwear firm. That’s according to Bloomberg, which cited “people with knowledge of the matter” and added that a deal could come next week and could value the company at around €4 billion ($4.9 billion).

Spanish label Hoss Intropia back on the market with Tendam

The return of Hoss Intropia is a reality. The iconic Spanish label from the 1990s, acquired by the Tendam group in November 2019, will begin a new chapter on March 1 with the launch of its first new collection, for the Spring/Summer 2021. Under the artistic, strategic and operational supervision of the retail group led by Jaume Miquel, Hoss Intropia is returning to the market by deploying an omnichannel strategy, with a physical presence in 20 stores and a dedicated e-tail site.

Having constructed a career in the Italian fashion press, his role at the brand will be that of deputy director of online and offline image, explained the Maison, further clarifying that this is a newly created position.

Tanya Golesic becomes president of Michael Kors women's division

Tanya Golesic is switching brands at Capri Holdings. The executive is leaving luxury shoemaker Jimmy Choo, acquired by the American group in 2017, in order to join Michael Kors. She has been president of Jimmy Choo's North American business since 2016. At Michael Kors, she succeeds Michelle Chan as president of the ready-to-wear brand's women's division, a role in which she will oversee the Michael Kors Collection, as well as the label's more accessible MICHAEL Michael Kors line.

Canadian outerwear brand Moose Knuckles has appointed former design director of Tom Ford and Burberry, Joseph McGee as their new VP of Women’s Design.

Urban Outfitters announces 7% drop in Q4 sales

Philadelphia-based lifestyle group Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN) reported net sales of $1.09 billion in the fourth quarter on Tuesday, down 6.9% year over year from $1.17 billion. According to the company, this decline was largely due to reduced store traffic and occupancy restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

PVH names Trish Donnelly CEO of the Americas

PVH Corp. announced on Wednesday the appointment of Trish Donnelly, as chief executive officer of PVH Americas. As of February 16, Donnelly will be based at PVH’s New York headquarters and will report directly to PVH CEO, Stefan Larsson.
